Simply bring existing KNX installations onto myGEKKO
With the new myGEKKO software update, it is now even easier to quickly and easily bring existing KNX installations onto myGEKKO - without any major programming effort.
All connected KNX installations such as lighting, shading can be connected to myGEKKO and reused without having to lay new cables.
"This type of modernisation is particularly advantageous for office buildings or for the extension of company flats," Stefan Prader from Elektro Prader tells us. He himself brought an office building built in 2001 up to the state of the art with the simple solution of myGEKKO. The KNX system used classically combines lighting control, individual room control and blind control. Examples of this are: A central off function for all lighting circuits or a time control for the individual room control. "What used to be a sensation is simply not up to date today. The building had very few functions in the area of automation. But with myGEKKO, upgrading and retrofitting is no problem," says Stefan Prader.
With myGEKKO Building Intelligence, these functions can not only be taken over without much effort, but also expanded. The office building was modernised in 2017 and expanded to include the associated company flat.
Modernising existing KNX systems with myGEKKO
After simply taking over the existing functions, it was possible to add all the functions that the building user wanted in a second step. Technology has developed greatly since the building was constructed and, accordingly, the requirements for the building have also become more complex. Thanks to the flexible system of myGEKKO, fulfilling the wishes was no problem.
So the following functions were quickly and easily added to the building: buttonless offices with intelligent sensors, company access control, telephone system with integrated VoIP intercom, control of the heating, energy and water meters, e-mobile charging stations, connection to the PV system, myPV hot water control, electric underfloor heating, weather station, video surveillance and alarm system. And all this without any major programming effort or rewiring.
The energy management automatically regulates all energy flows. This ensures transparency and efficiency in energy consumption. In this way, the building owner can monitor, control and possibly adjust the current energy consumption to save even more costs and unnecessary energy flows.
myGEKKO and KNX: together into the future
As soon as all KNX systems have been used on myGEKKO, in a third step extensions can be made easily and quickly in the future. myGEKKO is open and flexible and can adapt to new circumstances. The technology will continue to develop in the future and myGEKKO is constantly growing with it.
The new solution of myGEKKO is ingeniously simple: keep already existing KNX installations and expand and modernise them as desired. You can not ask more!
