Hotel Garni Schneider - modernised in no time with myGEKKO
The family-run Hotel Garni Schneider in the Ahrntal valley has been shining for many years in the village centre of Luttach. This time has also left its mark on the 20-year-old heating system. But what to do when the old heating system needs renovation, but some parts are still functional? myGEKKO has the solution.
The specialist company Elektro Oskar was able to carry out the conversion of the old heating system quickly, uncomplicatedly and cost-savingly. Tobias Lechner from Elektro Oskar: "Converting the system was relatively easy, as only the old control system had to be removed and myGEKKO installed. Then we carried out the configuration and basic parameterisation, which is very easy with myGEKKO." myGEKKO Building Intelligence is platform- and manufacturer-independent and therefore open and flexible - ideal for simply bringing existing buildings up to date.
In the Hotel Garni Schneider, components such as the frequency converter, the complete ventilation system, pumps and mixers as well as the manual automatic switches could continue to be used. Elektro Oskar replaced the old control system with myGEKKO RIO top-hat rail controllers and reused the old functioning components.
For the hotelier, myGEKKO has the advantage that he can make adjustments to the system himself. He can see all data, faults and values at any time and in real time on his mobile phone or PC. This makes it possible to make constant adjustments, which in turn saves costs. This includes energy costs as well as repair costs, which can be solved quickly and easily due to the immediate problem detection. The myGEKKO concept is flexibly expandable and therefore future-proof. Over time, it easily grows with the hotel and its conversions and extensions. The overview of energy flows and the possibility of manual adjustments also make the system sustainable and maximally efficient. "Converting the heating system to myGEKKO is also interesting for other hoteliers, because you really know what is happening in the system and a lot of time can be saved due to the good visualisation," says Tobias Lechner.
In the Hotel Garni Schneider, not only was the heating system replaced in the course of the renovation, but other functions were also realised: Individual room controls, heating controls, hot water preparation, ventilation controls, a solar control and a control to heat generators. For the components that could still be used, the wiring could be retained and only the sensors had to be replaced. The installation of the individual room sensors could be carried out quickly and easily, as they are not based on any installation system. In addition, various myGEKKO products such as the SLIDE 2 user interface, five Rio16s, four Rio29s and a UMI Design glass controller were installed quickly and without complications. Tobias Lechner's conclusion: "The simple and quick implementation of the conversion work was a highlight. Within a week, the work was completed."
The Hotel Garni Schneider became more modern, sustainable and efficient within a week.
